Little Bird Postcard Project exhibition
Consultation has concluded
Isaac Regional Council and Central Queensland Regional Arts Services Network (CQ RASN) are delighted to bring “The Little Bird Postcard Project” exhibition to the Coalface Art Gallery from Tuesday 1 June.
“The Little Bird Postcard Project” is a global, community-based arts project facilitated by Mackay artists Karen Hurford and Natalie Field.
Throughout history, humans have been fascinated and inspired by birds. Their diverse beauty making them a popular subject matter for artists across nations, cultures and social groups. Community members from near and far were invited to participate in the project by contributing a bird-themed, original artwork of postcard size. The project was open to all, irrespective of experience, background or ability and was designed to be easily accessible, inclusive and inexpensive.
To date, more than 1000 art works have been received from all over Australia and abroad.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to view the exhibition and meet artists Karen Hurford and Natalie Field at a special opening of the gallery to be held on Saturday 5 June at 10.00am until 12.30pm.
