Isaac Regional Council and the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DATSIP) are proud to bring the Mackay NAIDOC Youth Art exhibition to the Dysart Artspace located within the Dysart Library. The exhibition is open to the public during business hours and will finish on Monday 22 March 2021.

This exhibition shines a light on young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from the Mackay region many of whom are sharing their artwork publicly for the first time. It is the start of a journey for these talented young Queenslanders, to proudly express their culture through art and access further opportunities.

Having displayed this exhibition in Moranbah in December 2020, Council is delighted to bring it to the Dysart community and encourage our own local youth to unleash their creativity. We look forward to one day soon seeing their artwork hanging in the Dysart Artspace.

This aligns with Council’s objective in its Arts And Cultural Action Plan 2018-2022 to deliver exhibitions for the Dysart Artspace that provide community access to touring exhibitions. Council is committed to facilitating a diverse range of cultural events/programs/activities that build vibrancy, feed creativity, energise our communities and power our people.

A special exhibition launch will be held on Thursday 11 March 2021 at 6pm with light refreshments provided.

RSVP below by 1:00pm on Thursday 11 March 2021 to attend the exhibition launch or phone 1300 ISAACS (1300 47 22 27).
