Nebo Bush Poet's Smoko

Whether you’re an old hand, dabbling or just love a yarn, everyone is welcome at the 2026 Bush Poet’s Smoko at Historic Nebo Museum on Sunday 13th September 2026.

Now celebrating 25 years in the Nebo Community, Council is proud to present this significant community event dedicated to keeping alive the great Australian tradition of bush poetry. Visitors will be entertained by performances from local poets and visitors – anyone may perform. Some recite poems they have written or give renditions of classics such as “The Man from Snowy River” or “Clancy of the Overflow”; others tell tall tales.

Poet, Dan Lockyer, a long-time supporter of the event, will be MC for the morning, entertaining the crowd, inviting locals and visitors to step up to the podium and have their say.
