Consultation has concluded
A change is coming in the way Nebo and district residents connect with Isaac Regional Council services. Nebo has been selected as the pilot community for a new model of frontline service delivery from Council via the creation of Community Hubs in all major centres across the region.
The project's intent
The intent of the Community Hub model is to create an active and engaged space where the local residents can undertake their transactional business with Council, primarily customer service and library activities, but also engage in community programs and events, and participate in a range of community building and development activities all in the one location.
A new building entrance will provide improved accessibility.
About the project
The Nebo Community Hub is an initiative of the Queensland Government which is fully funded through the Works for Queensland program. Council's branch office in Reynolds Street will be undergoing a renovation to consolidate our frontline service delivery in one location and enhance both the amenity and accessibility of the premises for patrons.
Key outcomes include:
A one-stop shop for local community to access Council frontline services
Increase in library service availability to 8.30am-5.00pm weekdays
Improved accessibility for elderly and disabled patrons via a new main entrance
A new outdoor deck area with awning as a venue for community programs and events
Dedicated public access computer area and children's room
Free WIFI connectivity for community inside and outside the Community Hub
