Consultation has concluded

As part of Isaac Regional Council’s Road Infrastructure Road Planning, Pioneer Road has been identified for possible future upgrading to a sealed road in stages subject to funding availability.

Council would like to engage the community at the project planning stage to align Council's decision making with community expectations.

In order to better understand community expectations, Council is seeking feedback via this short survey below from various road users including residents, industry groups, and community groups. Now is your chance to have your say!

Feedback is welcome from: Wednesday, 4 November to Wednesday, 18 November 2020.

You can also complete a hard copy of the public survey available from Isaac Regional Council’s Clermont Council Office and lodge your completed form at Council’s Clermont Office or email it to records@isaac.qld.gov.au ; or call 1300 ISAACS (47 22 27) to provide your comments over the phone.

The initial section under consideration based on current road use is from Clermont-Alpha Road to the Bullhead Road intersection, approximately 21.3km. Consideration will also be given from Bullhead Road through to the steel grid bridge across Mistake Creek (2km) based on maintenance costs.

To maximise the seal lengths, Council is proposing to construct a 4m wide bitumen sealed on a 7m wide formation.

Please refer to the maps below to view a sectional view of the proposed road upgrade project.

Council has considered the following factors as part of the proposal to upgrade sections of Pioneer Road:

  • The number of road users
  • The school bus route
  • Sections which require frequent maintenance due to scouring
  • Value for money
  • Extended length of all-weather road use
