The Isaac Regional Council (IRC) Annual Operating Plan includes the release of an annual community swimming pool survey as one of many key performance indicators. We take this opportunity of thanking you for taking the time to participate in the survey as your input is very important to us. We are offering participants an opportunity to win one of three $50.00 Shop Isaac cards that will be drawn at random after the survey has closed.
As Council prepares to develop a strategic plan for the region’s pools, we take this opportunity to combine the annual survey with additional and more strategically aligned questions to establish the foundations for further community consultation.
Isaac Regional Council operates eight swimming pools across the region. Five of these pools are 50m and are located at Glenden, Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount and Clermont. A 25m pool is located in Nebo and two domestic sized pools are located at Flaggy Rock and St Lawrence. All pools apart from Moranbah are under third party management by virtue of a lease or management agreement. The majority of the pools are aged upwards of forty years.
IRC is in a unique position by owning and operating more pools than many significantly larger Councils across the State. This requires increased operational, capital and administrative commitments that must be well aligned to meet sustainable operations, forward planning and the lifecycle management of the pools.
We look forward to your participation in the survey and we give an undertaking to share the results as soon as practicable following the collection and collation of responses.
