Held annually, Queensland Women's Week is an expansion of International Women’s Day (Tuesday 8 March), providing a week-long, state-wide celebration of the achievements of Queensland women and girls. Here in the Isaac region, we’re not short on inspiring women who lift others up, give selflessly, break through barriers and make our towns better places to live, work and play. To acknowledge the immense contributions and achievements of Isaac women, we will once again be honouring the powerhouse females in our region via the Inspiring Women in Isaac Awards.

Nominations open via Speak Up Isaac on Monday 31 January and will close on Wednesday 16 February so do not miss your chance to nominate the special ladies in your life who are actively making a difference in our communities. Nominations will be accepted for both Inspiring Woman in Isaac, and Inspiring Young Woman in Isaac (aged 26 years or younger). If you'd prefer, you can also drop into a library or customer service centre to collect and complete a hard copy nomination form.

Awards ceremonies will be held in Nebo, Glenden, Moranbah, Dysart, Middlemount, Clermont and on the Isaac Coast between Friday 4 March – Sunday 13 March. Details of individual events will be advertised soon. In line with the 2022 International Women’s Day theme, #BreakTheBias, our events will showcase guests who are imagining a gender equal world, free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
