Isaac Museums Working Group Community Representatives
Introduction
The Isaac Museums Working Group (IMWG) is a platform where council officers can liaise with key stakeholders and community representatives to ensure the effective and sustainable management of Isaac Museums and the collections they hold. The facilities and sites within the remit of the IMWG include:
- Clermont Historical Centre
- Historic Nebo Museum
- Broadsound Centenary Pavilion (St Lawrence)
- Copperfield store
- Copperfield chimney
The purpose of the Community Representatives on the Isaac Museums Working Group is to provide feedback on community interests and promote an understanding of and engagement with Isaac Museums in the community.
An Expression of Interest process will be undertaken to select community representatives to join the Isaac Museums Working Group.
Eligibility
To be eligible to join the Isaac Museums Working Group as a community representative applicant must be:
- Resident of the Isaac Region
- Willing to actively participate in the activities of the Working Group including attending scheduled meetings. Meetings may be attended in person or by video conference, however, please note that you must attend in person at least two meetings per year.
- Interested in local heritage, and willing to learn more about cultural heritage and museum practices.
- Willing to provide feedback on community interests and promote an understanding of and engagement with Isaac Museums in the community.
Responsibilities
Working Group member responsibilities are outlined in the Isaac Museums Working Group Terms of Reference.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants must complete their application providing responses to all selection criteria.
1: Proof of residency
Please provide proof of residency in the Isaac Region (eg: driver licence, tenancy agreement, rates notice).
2: Willingness to actively participate in Working Group activities including meetings
Please outline your ability to attend meetings via video conference and in person across the Isaac Region. Please be aware that meetings can take place anywhere in the Isaac Region, and travel may be required.
3: Interest in local heritage, and willingness to learn about cultural heritage and museum practices.
Please outline your interest in cultural heritage and local history. Please include any previous experience or qualifications in museums or heritage industries, including any relevant paid or volunteer work.
4: Willingness to provide feedback on community interests and promote an understanding of and engagement with Isaac Museums in the community.
Please outline how you will source and provide feedback on community interests, and how you will promote understanding of and engagement with Isaac Museums in the community.
5: What new initiative/s would you like to see for museums and/or heritage in the Isaac Region?
Please share any ideas or suggestions you have for new projects or improvements for museums or cultural heritage activities in the Isaac Region.)

To be considered, applications must be submitted by 6 January 2025
Evaluation process
All applications received by the closing time and date will be assessed, and applicants notified of the outcome of their individual submissions.
Council’s assessment panel will review all applications based on eligibility and response to the selection criteria and may shortlist applicants who may then be invited to an interview.
Preferred applicants will then be referred to Council for its final consideration and approval.
Feedback
Council is happy to provide feedback on an application after conclusion of the Expression of Interest process. This may be arranged by contacting Council's contact officer who is listed on the Expression of Interest Information Sheet.
